The Vision

Finally, a new tool in personal computing

Not much has really changed since VisiCalc. The spreadsheet that launched the personal computer is still, four decades later, how most people wrestle with their data. epyx is the next tool.

A revolution in personal & small-business computing

The Macintosh let millions of people fend for themselves—creating, publishing, and building without waiting on a corporate IT department. epyx is that same kind of shift, for the age of AI.

We're putting genuinely powerful software in the hands of individuals and small businesses—so they can do for themselves what used to require a team, a budget, and permission.

Taking on Microsoft Office, in stages

Just as Apple displaced Nokia with the iPhone—not by building a better phone, but by redefining what a phone was—epyx displaces the Office suite by redefining what these tools should be. One stage at a time.

1
In testing

The spreadsheet, reinvented

Where most people live today. epyx replaces the spreadsheet with something that scales far beyond it—real data, real logic, real AI—without making you become a developer. This is the beachhead.

  • Local-first doclets that go where spreadsheets go, and further
  • AI assistance built into the flow
  • The full power of Python under a friendly surface
2
In testing

Best-in-world automation

Workflow and business process automation that outclasses everything else. The power of Python brings best-in-class capability to people who never had access to it before.

  • Workflow automation anyone can build
  • Business process automation without an IT department
  • Python-grade power, friendly enough for everyone
3
In planning

Documents & presentations

Word and PowerPoint, taken on in stages. The same local-first, AI-native foundation extended to the documents and decks that every person and small business depends on.

  • Documents (Word) — staged rollout
  • Presentations (PowerPoint) — staged rollout
  • One coherent tool instead of a fragmented suite
4
In planning

The workgroup appliance

Totally private sharing and a private agent for your team—nothing in the cloud. Your data and your AI stay inside your walls, on hardware you control.

  • Fully private sharing across a workgroup
  • A private agent—no data ever leaves your premises
  • Zero cloud dependency by design
5
In prototyping

epyx-forge — the enterprise platform

The whole platform becomes yours to build on. With the epyx-forge SDK, an enterprise—and its own AI coding agents—can scaffold, brand, and ship private vertical applications ("Editions") on top of epyx, deployed company-wide. Proprietary native code compiles straight in: the binaries ship, the source never leaves your walls.

  • Branded, private vertical apps built on the epyx platform
  • Your own agents extend it—native C/C++ compiled in, source stays home
  • Deployed corporate-wide, on infrastructure you control

In dream stage

A dream machine

Today, when you save your work on a computer, it goes to sleep — it becomes a frozen file, just a box of information on a shelf, and nothing happens until a program loads it back up. Every engineering tool works this way: all the intelligence lives in the application, and the moment your work leaves it, it's inert. epyx inverts this. In our system, a design isn't a file — it's a living object that knows what it is, what it depends on, and whether it's current. Simulations don't run and vanish; they persist as state the system maintains, like processes in an operating system — because that's effectively what this is: an operating system for engineering work. And all of that state lives on the hub: the hub is where the containers run, holding your team's entire design space as active, computable state. Which means the heavy compute lives there, not in your hands — so the machine in front of you no longer has to be a workstation. It can be thin, low-power hardware in the field: a light laptop, a tablet, a panel bolted to the test bench — each just a window onto the living system while the hub supplies the horsepower. Open any of them and you're looking directly at the same living system from wherever you are, not loading files or syncing folders, just present. One system, alive everywhere — its power concentrated in the hub, its reach extended to every device you touch. The file era gave us collaboration by email attachment and version numbers in filenames. This is what comes after.

  • A design is a living object, not a file
  • The hub runs the containers — putting enormous compute behind even the thinnest device
  • Thin, low-power devices in the field; one system, alive everywhere

And the verticals businesses actually run on

Beyond the office suite, we're targeting the category tools small businesses pay dearly for—QuickBooks, Salesforce, and the rest—rebuilt as private, AI-native, automatable workspaces you own.

Accounting & bookkeeping

QuickBooks-style ledgers, reconciliation, and reporting—yours, on your machine.

Sales & CRM automation

Salesforce-grade pipelines and workflows—without the seat licenses or the cloud.

Inventory & operations

Stock, orders, and fulfillment tracked live, with automation built in.

Invoicing & billing

Generate, send, and reconcile invoices straight from your own data.

Project & workflow management

Plans, tasks, and approvals that run themselves—no IT department required.

Scheduling & dispatch

Calendars, bookings, and crews coordinated from a single private workspace.

We're at Stage 1, and it already replaces your spreadsheet with something that scales beyond your imagination. The rest is coming.
